V.I.N.Cent. and old B.O.B.

The two beloved characters from Disney's 1979 SciFi classic the Black Hole.

The 2 are Labor Force robots(Vincent model L.F. 396, while Bob is the old L.F. 28) which can fly. During the film's pre-production, there was worry the 2 could be considered spoofs of C3PO & R2-D2, so it was decided the two would fly.

Apparently it is stated in the film, that B.O.B.(BiO sanitation Batallion) won a shooout competition with a Soldier Robot called S.T.A.R. (Special Troops Armed & Regiment). Star was so jealous of his lost, he blew up a fuse. Later, he got repaired & beat the living day lights out of Bob, leaving him in his current state(the poor thing). Bob was one 100's L.F. 28's robots, but the others were deactivated & scrapped when the villain of the movie, took control of the USS Cygnus(a giant exploration ship), leaving Bob as the soul survivor. He speak in a southern accent, Cause the 28's were all programmed in Houston.

20 years later, the Cygnus was found by the USS Palomino, standing still in front of a Black Hole, not been swallow by it. In this crew was an new L.F. model, V.I.N.Cent. L.F. 396(Vital Intelligence Necessary Centralized). Vincent is the up to date model of the Labor Force Robots, Has more gadgets & is more durable than the old L.F. 28. He speak with a British accent.

Vincent was voice by Roddy McDowall(17 September 1928 – 3 October 1998) & Bob was voice by Slim Pickens(June 29, 1919 – December 8, 1983).
